San Telmo in Mallorca

San Telmo is a fishing village located at the most south-westerly point of Mallorca. Getting there leads you down from Andratx via a small, winding road across the sidelines of the Tramuntana mountains. Sant Elm (catalan), a small, dreamy coastal village is mostly the home to individual tourists having their own small property in the village. During the high season, however, there are many day trippers to be found, as well as boats anchoring in the bay of San Telmo in order to enjoy the sun or to have lunch in one of the surrounding restaurants. The small pedestrian area with bakery, small supermarket, beach access, cafés and restaurants invites you to take a walk.

There is a local tourist office offering many helpful hints in several languages. You will find this office in the midst of the pedestrian area of the promenade.

A special highlight is the large, sandy beach directly at the entrance of the village. The child-friendly beach of Sant Elm offers beautiful views to the small island across called “Es Pantaleau” and also towards the island of “Sa Dragonera”, a nature reserve. Moreover, Sant Elm is the starting point of the hiking tour to the old abbey ruin “Sa Trapa”.

The village of Andratx as well as the famous harbour of Puerto Andratx can be reached by car within 15 minutes.

The island’s capital Palma de Mallorca can be reached by car within 40 minutes maximum.
